I have the privilege to work with an absolutely awesome teamof dedicated public health professionals. And we work to make healthcare safer by preventing infectionsand reducing the emergence and the spread of antimicrobialresistant bacteria in a similar  virility x3 way to what Erica has described. Last year, a fungal meningitis outbreak devastated patients,their loved ones, and healthcare providers. Dealing with it required every tool in my toolbox. My training as a clinician in Australia and at CDCas an Epidemic Intelligence Service -- or EIS -- Officer. More than 13,500 patients received contaminated steroidinjections from a compounding pharmacy. 750 patients developed meningitis or infectionsnear their spine. 64 have died. And many still struggle with complications. As horrendous as this outbreak has been,it could have been so much worse without the recent investmentsfrom the Affordable Care ActPrevention? and Public Health Fundsthat funds most members of my team.
