The basics of bodybuilding: Build muscle mass by simultaneously doing fewer reps and lifting more weight. Before you start working out, select a muscle group. Warm up with lighter weights, going through the motions but not working too hard. Do about 20 reps to warm up: use lighter weights if you cannot do 20 reps. The second set should be done with a weight with which you can complete only 6-8 repetitions. Add five pounds of weight each time.
