Description
Determine what your goals will be for each training session. Shorter trainings will more effective than long sessions. Try to aim for multiple 15 minute sessions and focus on just one or two different training goals for each period. This type of training will provide more frequent reinforcement without overwhelming your pup all at once.
Before plunging right in the water and starting to swim, spend some time ducking your body, head included, in and out of the water. Breathe in while you're on the surface and breathe out while you are under. This gives you time to acclimatize to the water and your swimming will enjoy the benefits.
A quick way to workout your leg muscles is to do squats. Simply hold your arms out, pointing forward away from your body, and crouch down with your legs. Then stand back up. Do this about ten times for three sets each. The stronger your legs get, the easier it will be to do them.
