GTA Online could be corrupting GTA 5 save files - National Console Gaming

GTA V's PS3 and Xbox 360 multiplayer component, Grand Theft Auto Online got away and off to a rocky start Tuesday morning with eager player's finding it near impossible to get in touch for the game's servers and play online. Things may be worse though as quite a few users are reporting that trying to play GTA Online is corrupting their single-player save file.
Multiple Grand Theft Auto V owners on Twitter and gaming forums like NeoGAF are reporting difficulties with corrupt save files after trying GTA Online.
"I was trying to find web couldn't so I went into GTA campaign mode as well as the saved file is corrupted," game designer Kevin Dent wrote on Twitter.
"All I wanted to do was play Single player, I loaded into Online simply to try it, but everything bugged out and failed," one NeoGAF user posted. "Now when I went back into single player, I can don't change characters at all."
Rockstar Games has updated its support page for GTA Online but there's no mention of corrupt save files yet. Here is what is listed during this information.
Those that are looking for to try Grand Theft Auto Online but are worried about the overall game corrupting their save file should backup their save file first. This can be done either to a USB storage device or for the cloud if you sign up to Xbox LIVE Gold or PS Plus.
